The Northeast Kingdom section of the Green Mountain Club is
hosting a slideshow event featuring local mountaineer Jake
Urban. The event, entitled Denali: Climbing North America's
Highest Peak will take place on Friday, January 24 at 7 pm
at the Burke Mountain Clubhouse in East Burke Village.
Jake will present slides and discuss his experience as he
and a small group of Northeast Kingdom climbers attempted
to climb Mt. McKinley in Alaska. This interactive discussion
takes an intimate look at high altitude climbing, decision
making, and goal setting in the frozen landscape in which
sits the mountain that the Inuit refer to as Denali, the high
one. This is a must see event for climbers and outdoor enthusiasts.

Cost is $5.00 for GMC members and $7.00 for the general public.
Refreshments will be sold for a small fee. All ages welcome.
