This April the section will need a new director, as I’ve
done two years of work in the position and am ready for other
challenges.
No, a section director doesn’t “direct”
the section, but instead is the communications person between
the section and the main club. He or she also serves as one
of the Board of Directors of the Green Mountain Club at its
four meetings per year, some of which are in Waterbury.
There’s also a committee role in the main club, and
I’ve enjoyed serving on the Trails Management Committee,
where I can learn about the decisions needed for Long Trail
maintenance and at the same time fill people in about Champion
Lands changes and other Kingdom issues and trails.
Let me show you the NEKGMC director’s work; you might
decide you’d like to create your own version of the
role, starting in April.
