When the Northeast Kingdom section holds its first-ever annual
meeting on April 28, at the top of the agenda will be creating
a new club position: Trip Coordinator. We have so many mountains
to hike and wild regions to explore that the Executive Committee
decided we need one person to coordinate all the opportunities:
timing, level of exertion, new vistas and old, and requests
for special trail days, including the trail work we hope to
do on Haystack Mountain.
So search your calendar and see whether you want to try this
job, for the energy it can ignite in you. And if everyone
brings a list of the trails they most want to set their boots
on this summer and fall, we'll be able to assemble a great
season of choices.
The meeting starts with a grand potluck supper at 5 p.m.,
followed by the 6 p.m. business meeting. After election of
officers for the coming year and lining up the hike schedule,
there will be a Champion Lands update and a short film (surprise!).
Bring a friend, or some of the kids in your life. We meet
at the Burke Mountain Clubhouse, in East Burke Village across
from the River Garden Cafe.
Our spring Champion Lands walk takes place on the same day.
