Saturday January 20, 2001 will be remembered an historic day
for the Northeast Kingdom Section of the Green Mountain Club.
Two critical votes, of special importance for our section's
future, were taken at the quarterly meeting of the main club's
board of directors that was convened at the Waterbury headquarters.
First, and of most immediate importance, our section 's bylaws
were unanimously ratified. The section is now fully initiated
into the club.
Second, and of great long-term consequence, the board, approved
a brief letter of intent to be sent to the former Champion
Lands Steering Committee expressing the club's interest in
being the corridor manager for hiking trails. Our future course
has been set.
Now the real work begins!
